CHARITY SPANNING CENTURIES AT THIS TABLE: OUR WAQF IFTAR GATHERINGS BEGIN ON THE FIRST DAY OF RAMADAN IN 81 PROVINCES AND 151 LOCATIONS

While continuing to uphold the principles of solidarity and mutual assistance inherent in our waqf tradition, our Directorate General is preparing to bring millions together at the same table in the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan. Within the scope of our Waqf Iftar Gatherings, which have become a tradition since 2024, free iftar tables will be set up across Türkiye in 81 provinces and 151 locations through our 25 Regional Directorates.
3 MILLION CITIZENS TO GATHER AT OUR WAQF TABLES
Under the theme “Charity Spanning Centuries at This Table,” this year’s organization will bring together 100,000 people daily, reaching a total of 3 million citizens throughout Ramadan at our waqf tables. These iftar gatherings, which represent the fulfillment of charitable conditions recorded in waqf deeds centuries ago, will carry the spirit of Ramadan’s sharing across cities nationwide.
Our iftar tables are not merely meal services; they are living reflections of the unity, solidarity, and brotherhood that define waqf civilization. The prayers offered at the same table, the bread shared, and the bonds formed from heart to heart will once again demonstrate the continuity of our waqf culture.
OUR WAQF IFTARS WILL EXTEND FROM THE BALKANS TO PALESTINE
Following the international iftar programs organized for the first time in 2025 in eight different locations, primarily in Nicosia, Sarajevo, and Prizren, Ramadan 2026 will see expanded overseas iftar organizations carried out on behalf of our Directorate General in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and Palestine.
Within this framework, the following daily and total iftar figures are planned:
- Kosovo: 500 people daily – 14,500 total
- Bosnia and Herzegovina: 670 people daily – 17,030 total
- TRNC: 500 people daily – 14,500 total
- Bulgaria: 400 people daily – 11,600 total
- North Macedonia: 350 people daily – 10,150 total
- Palestine: 10,000 people daily – 290,000 total
In total, it is projected that in 6 countries, 13 cities, and 15 locations, 12,420 people will be reached daily, with 357,780 iftar meals distributed throughout the month of Ramadan.
