DREAM DISCOVER ENDOW YOUTH PROJECT - KOSOVO
It is of great importance to promote the activities of our Directorate-General with purpose of fulfilling the charitable conditions and protecting the cultural assets of more than 60 thousand Mazbut (fused) foundations represented and managed by our Directorate General in order to in terms of keeping the foundation culture alive.
The international recognition and prestige of our Directorate General that manages projects and works for the needy and cultural assets abroad as well as in our country is increasing day by day. Increasing the promotional activities we carry out in order to diversify the activities of our Directorate General in the international arena, to reach more people, and to cooperate with different groups are among the international objectives of our Directorate General.
With this purpose in order to promote and spread our foundation civilization in the international arena the “Dream, Discover and Endow Youth Project” is promoted by our Directorate General, and as the starting of this project a serial of educational and cultural events were conducted for 16 Kosovo university students study in Kosovo and 2 accompanying staff were hosted in İstanbul and in Bursa between 13-19 June with cooperation of the Presidency of the Islamic Union of the Republic of Kosovo.
Within the scope of the “Dream, Discover, Endow Youth Project” which is designed with the aim of promoting the universal valued Turkish foundation culture, the functions of our Directorate General carried out in Istanbul and Bursa were introduced to our young guests in practically. In this context,
Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University and Bezmialem Valide Sultan Vakıf University which were established by our Directorate General were visited. In the conference Hall of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University, an introductory presentation describing both our Directorate General and the foundation understanding in Turkey and a presentation introducing the university were promoted by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University KURAM (Foundation Cultural Heritage Conservation Application and Research Center) that functions within the university was visited and information about its works was shared. A presentation was made about the foundation history of Bezmialem Valide Sultan Vakıf University Hospital and the foreign patients treated in this hospital and the museum placed in the hospital was toured.
İstanbul Eyüp Soup Kitchen was visited and information about the soup kitchen was given and the students actively worked and took part in its cook distribution service.
Examples of foundation works protected by our Directorate General in İstanbul were toured and restorations were explained. Sultan Ahmet Mosque and Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, Süleymaniye Complex, Fatih Mosque and Tomb, bird houses in Üsküdar (Ayazma Mosque, Selimiye Mosque and Yeni Valide Mosque), Edirnekapı Mihrimah Sultan Mosque were visited. The Spice Bazaar and its surrounding were visited and a Bosphorus Tour was realized. The students also participated in a concert by the Istanbul Historical Turkish Music Ensemble, affiliated to T.R. Ministry of Culture and Tourism Directorate General of Fine Arts, in Yenikapı Dervish Lodge.
In Bursa, Osmangazi Tomb in Tophane, Bursa Grand Mosque and its surrounding inns and bazaars, Yeşil (Green) Mosque and Yeşil (Green) Tomb, Panorama 1326 Bursa Conquest Museum, Murad Hüdavendigar Mosque and historical plane tree were visited and information about workings of our Directorate General in Bursa was shared with students.
